Two days tour in Gudauri ski resort allows you to visit Gudauri Winter resort and historical and architectural monuments on the way back from Gudauri to Tbilisi like: Jinvali Dam, Ananuri fortress, Mtskheta old capital, Svetitskhoveli cathedral and Jvari church. In Gudauri you can do different snow activities, enjoy, do some extreme activities and then rest in the hotel. Next day whole coming back to Tbilisi you can visit beautiful and intersting historical and architectural places, UNESCO protected sites Mtskheta, Jvari and Ananuri. The fees for snow activities such as hiring of the skiing gears, training in skiing, snow mobiles, sledges, or cable cars, also the fees for your hotel and restaurants in Gudauri or other places are not included in the tours fee.
Pickup included
After 30 minutes driving from Tbilisi we arrive in Jinval Water dam and reservoir for photo taking. Name Jinvali comes from the city that was before the dam construction in 1970s. There are nice views to the water reservoir tourists like to take photos. There is also a small market where you can buy the warm cloths for Gudauri skiing resort, if you would like.
After one hour driving we arrive in Gudauri where you can enjoy different snow activities if you would like: skiing, snow bikes, snow sledges, cable cars. You can have also skiing lessons in Gudauri. The activity fees, skiing training and cable cars tickets are not included in the tours price. After snow activities and lunch in Gudauri I'll take you to your hotel. You have to book your hotel yourself in Gudauri.
Next day we come back to Tbilisi and after one hour driving we arrive in Ananuri historical place. We shall walk around 30 minutes and visit Ananuri fortress. Ananuri has a fortified castle Ensemble, Fortress wall, fighiting/defensive towers and one residential tower. There is also 17th century Church with beautiful decorations and frescoes.
After one hour driving we arrive in old city Mtskheta. We shall walk around 1 hour or less and visit historical and religious place. Mtskheta was a capital city in antique time of Eastern Georgian Kingdom Iberia before foundation of Tbilisi in 5th century. Mtskheta is protected by UNESCO. There is a mediavel and renaissance time Cathedral Svetitskhoveli in Mtskheta. Svetitskhoveli is a holy place for orthodox Christians. There are holy relicts and interesting frescoes in Svetitskhoveli. Afrer visiting Mtskheta you can have a lunch in Mtskheta.
After visiting and lunch in Mtskheta we can visit Jvari church. Jvari is in 20 minutes driving from Mtskheta. This is a 6th century cross-dom church on the hilltop that overlooks Mtskheta old capital from the top. Jvari church is under UNESCO protection and it is connected to spreading Christianity in Georgia in 4th century AD. There are amazing views from Jvari to Mtskheta old Capital and confluence of two rivers Mtkvari and Aragvi. We stay around 30 minutes in Jvari and then go back to Tbilisi.
