About this experience

This day you can visit Gudauri skiing resort for snow activities and beautiful scenic views on the way, also historical and architectural monuments, UNESCO protected sites. As it is a full day tour it is better to start the tour early morning at 8 or 9 am. We shall arrive in Tbilisi in evening around 7 pm.

Visit of Jinvali Dam for photo taking, optional, 5-10 minutes with driving time 1 hour.

Visit of Ananuri fortress for sightseeing and photo taking, optional, 30 minutes. With driving time 1 hour.

Gudauri is our main place of this day where we stay most of the time around 2-3 hours. We shall walk in Gudauri skiing resort where you can have different snow activities and photo taking of the highest snowy mountains and hilltops.

You can have a lunch of the way to back to Tbilisi in the village Passanauri riverside

If you would like the skiing and snow activities if you have to book in Winter only: January-February-March. Activities are for extra fee.

Detailed itinerary

We start tour from Tbilisi in the morning around 9.00 am. After 1 hour driving we arrive at Jinvali Dam where we can make a quick stop for photo taking. Jinvali Dam is an artifical Jinvali Water reservoir with a nice views on the dam for photos. There is also a small market where you can buy some warm dress if you need for Gudauri Winter resort. We can stay around 15-20 minutes at Jinvali dam.

After 15 minutes driving from Jinvali viewpoint we arrive at Ananuri fortress. This is a mediave fortress of 13th century built for protecting the city Jinvali what was before dam and to close the road for the enemies to the mountains. We have to walk around 30 minutes to visit Ananuri fortress.

After 1 hour driving we arrive in Gudauri. Gudauri is a Seasonal Winter resort which is open from middle of December to middle of April. In Gudauri you can enjoy different snow activities, like skiing, snow bikes, snow sledges, cable cars. There are the ski rentals where you can rent the skiing gears and skiing dress also. You can have also a trainer who can teach you skiing. The fees for activities and skiing training is not included in the Tours fee.

After coming back from Gudauri to Tbilisi we can stop in Pasanauri village for lunch or dinner. This is a nice and small mountainous village on the river side where you can taste famous tasty food at the local restaurants.
