Stop 1

Pick up from the hotel (located in Tbilisi) and drive to the direction of Kakheti Region for visiting Alaverdi Monastery.

One of the most important medieval monuments in all of Georgia. It was built at the beginning of the 11th century and was one of the tallest buildings of its time (and the tallest religious building in Georgia until 2004). The cathedral was built on the spot of the smaller Church of St George, and the current cathedral is also dedicated to him.

Twins wine cellar in Napareuli - was established by twin brothers Gia and Gela Gamtkitsulashvili. The company is oriented on the Kakhetian method of wine production and follows family traditions of winemaking. Nowadays the cellar has 107 Qvevris (underground clay jars for storing wine) most of which have 3.5 – 4.5 tones capacity. The wine at Twins Wine Cellar is made of Rkatsiteli, Kakhetian Green, Saperavi, and Cabernet sorts of grapes harvested from Napareuli micro-zone that gives wine moderate tannins and an original harmonious taste. The local museum, excursion at Twin Cellar, and three types of Georgian Wine degustation is included.

Visiting Duke Alexander Chavchavadze`s estate with its garden in Tsinandali. During the 19th century, the Tsinandali complex belonged to renowned Georgian poet and public figure Alexandre Chavchavadze. The landscape garden in Tsinandali is the first European-type recreation zone in Georgia. In it, there is “the love lane”. The legend says that if lovers can walk through it with their eyes shut, their life together will be happy. It was in the Tsinandali winery that the wine was first bottled in Georgia
