This Mision was dedicated to Saint San Jose and was built in 1730, by 1822 was attacked by a Chilean insurgents and was almost destroyed, in 1940 was rebuilt and since then has maintained the same architecture. It is a place full of history of the native Pericues Indians, the colonization and the local people. Every year by mid-march is held a celebration in honor of San Jose The Saint, a festivity that includes, music, dances, food and religious acts. It is a beautiful, old, historic building that is worth to visit.

La Playita used to be a fisherman village, currently there is a modern marina, with a golf course and grand tourism hotels. At the entrance to the town of La Playita there is a monument built in honor of the local fisherman who continue with their fishing traditions passed from generation to generation. We will visit this monument "a strong fisherman holds a large fish above his head, with outstretched arms, the right hand holds the tail and the left, the head, various cactus animate his surroundings.
