About this experience
Explore the Flavors and Sights of Silves and Monchique Mountains! The municipality of Silves is renowned for its citrus production and high-quality oranges.
The day begins with a visit to a local orange grove. Learn about the history of the family that is intertwined with the history of this orange grove up to the present day. The visit includes picking fresh oranges and tasting orange juice and orange jam.
We then continue our journey to Silves, the old capital of the Algarve. Enjoy free time to visit the Moorish Castle, considered the finest military monument from the Islamic period in Portugal, and the Gothic Cathedral (entry fees not included).
On the way to the mountains, we stop for lunch in a typical restaurant.
Enjoy a panoramic stop at Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve, located in the Monchique mountains. Here, you'll have the chance to sample our regional "Medronho" firewater and delicious local honey with Protected Designation of Origin, offered by a local producer.

Stop 1
Our first stop takes you on a pleasant activity to pick-up and taste the famous Algarve Oranges – included. We continue the day until we reach “Chelb” the ancient capital of the Algarve, the great city of the Arabian West of the Iberian Peninsula – today Silves - free time to visit the Castle and the Cathedral.

Serra de Monchique” or the Monchique mountains range displays the highest point in the Algarve, Pico da Fóia, with 902 meters of altitude, a 360º viewpoint over the mountains and the sea

The Mountain Flavors we find in the delicious honey of PDO - Protected Designation of Origin by E.U and in the famous regional firewater – visit to a traditional distillery with honey and firewater tasting included We finish the day visiting the charming Thermal Villa of Caldas de Monchique, known for the therapeutic quality of its "sacred waters" since the time of the Roman Empire and the Lovers Fountain “ Fontes dos Amores” .
