Detailed itinerary

1

Paleokastritsa is located on the NW coast of Corfu, from Corfu town. The resort is hilly and nestles beneath the folds of steep verdant slopes of olive groves and citrus orchards. It is one of the most beautiful seasides of Corfu Island and considered by the locals the mythical petrified ship of Ulysses. The crystal clear waters and the surrounding caves have made the area one of the most popular sites for swimming and snorkelling. The historic monastery of Palaiokastritsa with the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary can be seen at the top of the hill of the peninsula.

2

Vlacherna Monastery is an iconic point of the island and one of the most famous and photographed places on Corfu. The name Vlacherna originates from the large monastery located in Turkey. It is connected to the mainland by a pedestrian bridge with a short walk to the Monastery. The Monastery of Vlacherna is distinguished by its unusual shaped, tiled roof and intense white walls that sharply contrast with the lush landscape and the brilliant blue of the sea. In the small church of the Monastery, you will be able to worship the icon of the Virgin Mary, “Lady of Vlacherna”.

3
Stop 3

Mouse Island and the monastery of Virgin Mary Vlacherna are the most famous and photographed landmarks of Corfu. A narrow bridge connects the Island with the picturesque monastery constructed in the 17th century. Usually, you can see an aeroplane landing and taking off from this spot, as the airport of Corfu is right next to the church.

4

A melting pot of cultures, Corfu has charming secrets to reveal and our passion for our city will let you capture its spirit. We will be wondering about myriad alleyways and discover unexpected squares with old walls and fountains while heading for famous and impressive monuments, getting to know their importance and significance in the course of time.

5
Stop 5

We will visit the church of Saint Spiridon, the patron saint of the Island and a miracle worker. It was erected during the 16th century and the architecture of the church is typical of the Venetian architecture. It' s bell tower is the highest spot of the town that is seen all over the Old Town of Corfu. The locals have deep faith in Agios Spiridon, who is considered the keeper of the island. Inside the Church of Saint Spiridon is a crypt, where his relics are kept in a double sarcophagus.
