Measuring 150,000 square feet and inspired by the traditional circular hut this museum was conceived with the goal of highlighting Africa's contribution to the world's culture and scientific patrimony.Your guide will walk you through various galleries that featured African arts starting from pre-history to contemporary African arts.
The museums celebrates African 's achievements in the art and artworks worldwide.

Our accredited guide will accompany you to the IFAN museum that is hosted in old colonial building. It became a national museum in 1966 just after six years of Senegal independence.It was renamed Theodore Monod Museum in 2007 in hommage to a french scientist whose work contributed to African art restoration.
While walking with your guide around the museum you will discover the old African arts and artworks from mainly west African countries starting from Sub-Saharian Africa to tropical west African countries.You will see a large range of masks,basketry,potery,leather arts , scene rites and so on.
Most of these objects were used for religious and ceremonial events.
