We love Mechelen and love to share it with the world. Still a hidden gem, it is very accessible from both Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent. It is quieter than the bigger cities, but has more charm in our opinion.
Our tours are small groups only. For safety, but also because we like to know the people we guide. We hope that you will enjoy touring with us.
Our walking tour in Mechelen starts on a very important square. After a short introduction and brief with what you can expect, we start our journey. This tour gives you a good insight into what Mechelen is all about and where the residents love to hang out.
There are plenty of opportunities to take photos!
Grote Markt or Main Square is an area that has a lot of history in and around it. Thanks to Margaret of Austria, Mechelen played an important role. Are you ready to get started?
From the Grote Markt, we go to Mechelen's shopping street Bruul to discover the area. Small side streets and back alleys bring you to some hidden gems that only the locals know. We like to surprise you with stories and interesting facts!
From Bruul it is easy to get to Ijzerenleen. This used to be the old fish market. Now it is full of eateries and magnificent architecture.
The new fish market (or Vismarkt in Dutch) is a trendy place. Cute cafes and eateries and an amazing view over the river Dyle.
This area is also were we will finish our tour.
We meet our guests at "De Lijnwinkel", which is opposite the main station entrance.
Upon arrival, please show your ticket to your guide.
