The Golden Roof, the former magnificent dungeon of Emperor Maximilian, is one of Innsbruck's landmarks with its 2,657 fire-gilded shingles.

The Hofkirche houses the most monumental (empty) imperial tomb in Europe. A bronze funeral procession consisting of 28 larger-than-life statues surrounds the grave monument. They gave the court church the popular name "Schwarzmanderkirche".
