About this experience

Learn survival skills! From Rovaniemi, your outdoor guide will lead you on a sunset hike to explore the Arctic wilderness! This hiking tour is also educational ; your guide will share their knowledge about Arctic nature, local lifestyle in relation to the environment, tricks on how to survive or make a fire.

This hiking adventure takes you out of Rovaniemi, it provides a great opportunity to discover more of Lapland nature far away from the city.

We organise this excursion from Spring to Autumn so you can experience Arctic nature even without snow. The Midnight Sun period in Rovaniemi lasts from end of May until early July. In July and August, the sun sets for a few hours only, offering equally impressive warm colors and the so-called “white nights”. From September onwards, as the Northern Lights season starts we may spot some on our way back from the sunset hike.
