A 1-day gorilla trek will include visiting the prominent volcanoes national park that covers an average area of 162 square kilometers. Volcanoes national park is a tropical rain forest of interspersed bamboo, forested with grassland areas and swampy areas

Volcanoes NP lies amidst a chain of 5 volcanic mountains that include Mt Bisoke, Karisimbi, Gahinga, Muhabura and mount Sabyinyo in the protected Virunga massif conservation area. Volcanoes national park is well known as a mountain gorilla destination with over 200 mountain gorillas both habituated and wild gorillas. This activity will left you with a lifetime experience.

Stop 1

This tour will start and end from Kigali with gorilla tracking in volcanoes national park, Northern Province of Ruhengeri which is a 2-hour drive from Kigali city. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali at 4:30 am and transfer you to volcanoes national park headquarters with your packed lunch and enough drinking water. You will reach early by 7 in the morning for briefing before you embark on the experience

Mountain gorilla trekking requires physical fitness and usually varies from 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Once you find them, spend an hour with them observing, taking photographs as well as asking questions from the guides and rangers. After an hour, you will return back to the park headquarters for your tracking certificate and then transfer back to Kigali reaching in the evening. You will be dropped off at the hotel or airport for the departure flight if on schedule.
