Limón, commonly known as Puerto Limón, is a district, the capital city and main hub of Limón province, as well as of the Limón canton in Costa Rica. It is the seventh largest city in Costa Rica, with a population of over 55,000, and is home of the Afro-Costa Rican community.
The pier is located right in front of the city and it is a small town that you can explore easily with a short walk.
During our tour, our guide will provide a short city tour where you will be able to learn about its culture, traditions and principal attractions.

The canals that lead to the Tortuguero National Park begin in the Puerto Moin sector, just 5 miles from the center of the Limon province. This main sector has small docks for small boats that make the trip along the Caribbean coast, until they reach their final point in Barra de Colorado. This system of natural and artificial canals made by man, are a tourist attraction because it runs through beautiful sectors of forests, small towns and offers a perfect opportunity to admire a large number of wild animals such as monkeys, sloths, iguanas, alligators, waterfowl and many more.

Meeting point

Pick up is at the entrance of the pier. Main Gate. Please proceed to the main entrance of the pier. After exit the pier, at main street, you will see our tour guides holding a sign with your name on it.

PLEASE READ the following instructions regarding PICKUP TIME and MEETING LOCATION for your shore excursion. It is your responsibility to have this information clear for avoid any inconvenience the day of the tour and don´t miss your tour.

Tour Meeting Time: 8:00 AM or 30 Minutes After Ship Arrival. We operate all our tours accordingly with ship arrival. We know sometimes the ships run late. For this reason, we have our pickup 30 minutes after the ship arrival with first departure at 8:00 AM.

Meeting Places by arrival port: Main Entrance of the pier.

Puntarenas: Please walk to the main exit of the pier. On the way to the main public street. Once there you will see our guides holding a sign with your name.

For Puerto Caldera: The port authority offers a free shuttle bus service to the main entrance of the pier. Take it and meet our staff at the entrance of the terminal. Do not take the shuttle that goes to Puntarenas City. Just go the main gate.

We do not pick up INSIDE the pier. Do not stop at the local vendors inside the pier. Go straight to main gate of the terminal. Main Public Street.
