Detailed itinerary

1

Katsuo-ji Temple is a historic Buddhist temple located in Minoh City, just north of Osaka, Japan. Founded in the 8th century, it is part of the Koyasan Shingon sect and is renowned for its association with victory and good fortune. The temple's name, which means “Temple of the Victorious King,” reflects its longstanding connection to success in both personal and professional endeavors. Visitors often come to pray for luck, especially in exams, business, and health, and the temple is famous for its countless daruma dolls—symbols of perseverance and wish fulfillment—that are offered by worshippers. Surrounded by lush forest and seasonal flowers, Katsuo-ji offers a peaceful, spiritual retreat, particularly beautiful in autumn when the maple leaves turn vibrant red and gold.

2

Minoh Waterfall (箕面大滝, Minoo Ōtaki) is a breathtaking 33 m cascade nestled within the lush forest of Meiji‑no‑Mori Minoh Quasi‑National Park, just north of Osaka. Revered as one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls, it’s particularly magical during late November to early December, when fiery autumn foliage bathes the area in vivid reds and golds

3

Located in Kyoto’s Arashiyama district, this serene bamboo grove offers an otherworldly experience. Walking through the towering bamboo stalks feels like stepping into a dream. Visitors will stroll along a well-maintained path flanked by the swaying bamboo that creates a rustling sound as the wind passes through, offering a calm, tranquil atmosphere. There are also opportunities to visit nearby cultural landmarks like the Tenryu-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with beautifully landscaped gardens. Travelers can rent bicycles for a more leisurely exploration or enjoy a traditional boat ride along the Hozu River, adjacent to the bamboo forest.

Stop 4

The Tōdai-ji Temple, located within Nara Park, is an iconic Buddhist temple housing the world’s largest bronze Buddha statue, known as Daibutsu. This massive figure stands at 15 meters tall, and the Daibutsuden (Great Buddha Hall) that houses it is one of the largest wooden structures in the world. Travelers can marvel at the sheer scale of the hall and its rich architectural details, as well as the impressive Daibutsu itself. There are also smaller statues, artifacts, and relics within the complex that tell the story of Japan’s Buddhist history. The temple grounds also offer a peaceful environment with scenic gardens, smaller shrines, and picturesque views.
