Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Big Buddha Temple sits on a small outcrop in the North East of Koh Samui. Known in Thai as Wat Phra Yai, its golden, 12 metre tall seated Buddha statue was built in 1972 and remains one of the island’s most popular attractions. Set on Koh Faan, Big Buddha temple is reached by a small road that connects it to the main island. The Big Buddha can be seen at a distance of several kilometres and is often the first landmark people see when arriving in Samui by air.

2

Chaweng view point is situated on the main road to Lamai in Koh Samui, from this wonderful vantage point there are unopposed sea views of the Gulf of Thailand. This really is a picture perfect opportunity.

3
Stop 3

Translated as Grandmother and Grandfather rocks in English, these rock formations known to resemble male and female symbols are a very popular attraction here on Koh Samui. Situated on the beach near Lamai and definitely worth a visit during your stay.

4
Stop 4

The Mummified Monk at Wat Khunaram is a special place to visit. This well known monk, Luang Pordaeng, who passed away in 1973 while meditating in a seated position, is displayed in a glass case and even after 40 years his body shows very little signs of decay. For westerners it might be a strange image seeing a dead body displayed to the public but for most buddhistic thais death is the next step in reaching the highest goal, the nirvana.

5
Stop 5

The waterfall at Na Muang is a lovely spot, during the wet season the water cascades down to the rock pools below. The water fall is only a short walk from the car park and is a great chance to see the interior jungle canopy of Koh Samui.
