The 2-hours walking tour will start at St Paul’s Church, which is an important memorial to the start of German democracy.
Your Private Guide will provide interesting commentary on German history as you will pass the Goethe’s House and the Gutenberg Monument commemorating the Printing Revolution in Europe.
You will stroll through Frankfurt banking district to enjoy the impressive modern office towers and skyscrapers, such as the Commerzbank Tower, Tanustrum, Eurotower and Main Tower.
You will also see the historical Römerberg with its characteristic line of timber houses, the iconic 15th century Römer town hall, Old St Nicholas Church and Fountain of Justice.
You will follow the so-called “coronation route” through the narrow streets of New Frankfurt Old Town towards the Frankfurt Cathedral. Also known as the Imperial Cathedral, this amazing Gothic structure plays an important role in the general history of Frankfurt as the religious counterpart of the royal palace.
You will reach the Mainkai riverfront road and join an exclusive cruise along the Main River. You can go either downriver or upriver, depending on the time of the departure.
Upriver you will see landmarks such as the Dreikönigskirche, Main Plaza, Literature House, the industrial memorial site Ruhrorter Werft - Frankfurt-Ost and the Gerbermühle.
Downriver you will see Städel Museum, Commerzbank and University Hospital. The guide will not accompany you on a cruise but you will enjoy the informative audio guide.
You will walk past Goethe Statue on the Goetheplatz and through Goethestraße, a high-end shopping street open since 1892.
