Detailed itinerary

1

Adventure begins with a pickup from your Cologne accommodation in a clean, air-conditioned vehicle. Sit down and enjoy a relaxing ride filled with engaging stories, historical facts and legends of the past.

2

Burg Castle is located in Solingen, which in the Middle Ages was known as the “City of Blades” - the Northern Europe blacksmith center. The castle itself houses a remarkable collection of armory and weapons, showcasing what a life of a medieval knight would be like, as well as an exhibition on the history of the region from early medieval times to industrial revolution. For your convenience, we provide skip-the-line tickets to Burg Castle so you can save time and spend more time exploring the castle rather than waiting in the line to the ticket office.

3

Your Private Guide will introduce you to the castle’s history, from the rise of the Duchy of Berg, through the castle’s decay, to its restoration as a major public attraction. See highlights such as the Great Hall, the Gallery of Ancestral Portraits, the Chapel and so much more! There will be free time to do souvenir shopping or dine at a local restaurant.

4

Discover a Baroque pearl of the region - the Benrath Palace. Travel through the picturesque Wuppertal landscapes, featuring the Wuppertal river and the Mungsten Bridge, which is the highest railway bridge in Germany. Make a stop at the beautiful Benrath Palace to learn about its history and relax in its lush park and garden, which is home to more than 80 species of birds and over 300 of beetles. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at your Cologne accommodation.
