I'm knowledgeable, friendly, passionate, careful: all you can hope to have in a private guide. I can help you navigate through the sights in such a way and provide excellent context so that you'll be truly able to appreciate what you see without being overwhelmed. I can arrange, per extra request, private transportation from/to the sites to visit and skip the line tickets. If I'm the only individual guide that Rick Steves "Europe through the Back Door" uses for tours in Naples city, there must be a reason! Please notice that for this tour a minimum of 6 participants is required.
I will explain you the most famous artifacts (i.e. the highlights) found in Pompeii and Herculaneum, the towns buried by Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD such as frescoes (i.e. mural paintings), statues, domestic items made from blown glass, bronze, ivory, painted terracotta, semiprecious stones et cetera as well as silver and golden jewels, mosaics, "erotica" (in the famous Secret Cabinet!) and, last but not least, the most important among the huge monolithic marble statues dating back to the Roman Imperial Age and that belong to the so-called Farnese Collection.
NOTICE: if you want to tour the historic districts of Naples instead of the National Archaeological Museum, it is fine, just let me know.
In any case and for any tour I will arrange the entry ticktes and you will reimburse me.

Naples is a vibrant and exciting city, but it can also be chaotic and overwhelming. While violent crime is relatively low, petty crime such as pickpocketing and scams is common, especially in tourist areas. It's important to be aware of your surroundings and take precautions to protect yourself and your belongings.
