Iximche is a fascinating place. This was one of the main Mayan cities visited by the Spaniards in 1524, declared the first capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala.

You will be able to see the old pyramids built by the Maya, and some of the most active Ceremonial Altars where contemporary Maya use to perform ancient rituals and burn offerings to their ancestors.We will get you back on time before the cruise sets sail.

We will start this tour immediately after picking up all our passengers at the cruise ports, either Puerto Quetzal or Marina Pez Vela. We will take advantage of the time on the road explaining all the interesting facts about Guatemala and its vibrant culture. Getting to Iximché will take us 2 and a half hours. During the trip you will see many different landscapes, you will go from hot to cold as we will go to the highlands. Enjoy the road.

After our time on the road, we will arrive at the Mayan city of Iximché. This was the last Mayan city in Guatemala before the coming of the Spanish conquerors. Get ready to know its history full of wars, conquests, betrayals, kings, and more. You will be accompanied all the time by a tour guide specialized in archeology and history, so rest assured that all the questions you may have will be answered.

This site is frequently visited by people of Mayan descent to carry out different ceremonies. They can be ceremonies of a petition, gratitude, etc. If we are lucky and if the local people allow it, we will be able to witness a Mayan ceremony.

After a perfect visit full of history, we will go to Pueblo Real in Tecpán so you can enjoy a delicious lunch. Enjoy your free time and eat deliciously. Then we will head back to Puerto Quetzal back to your cruise ship.

At the end of the tour and after lunch we will take you back to your cruise. Take the time to rest and enjoy the views of the landscapes.
