It is a mountain with easy access, very popular among visitors to Huaraz. It is perfect for beginners and great for acclimatization before climbing high mountains. Mateo Summit offers stunning views of Peru’s highest peaks, such as Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Ulta, Contrahierbas, and other summits.

Day 1: Huaraz - Tranfer to Paso Punta Olimpica (4.736 m) - Nevado Mateo (5150 m), one-day guided ascent

A technically easy one-day ascent to the Nevado Mateo in the Cordillera Blanca. This amazing and fun expedition will be led by Eric Albino Lliuya, a local AGOMP peruvian mountain guide. Driving 6 Hours approx round trip Overnight Camping Hiking 4 Hours approx Driving 2 Hours approx Meals -/-/-

We pick up at your hotel at 3:00am, we drive by car about 2:hors and 30minutes, roud trip by car about 5hrs total.
