Port Grimaud, located right in front of Saint Tropez is a charming "water-village" created in 1966 is called “the Venice of Provence” because of its very special kind of architecture where streets are canals and boats anchor near the houses.

Saint Tropez is an ancient greek then roman village -- its name comes from the legend of Torpes, a centurion of the roman army who was decapitated by the order of Nero because of his religion.
His body was placed in a small boat which drifted out to sea and landed on the beach here. He became a famous martyr and the catholic community decided to build a city in his name in this place. Stopover with free time at leisure for visiting & lunch on your own.
