Detailed itinerary

8::00 am pick up by our accredited tour guides and drive out to the Swakop River where we enter the Dorob National Park. This is part of the 80 million year old Namib Desert.

9:00 am Where we 4x4 drive along and enter the fascinating Moon Landscape which has been sculptured over many years by the flooding waters of the Swakop River, to resemble the moon. Stop over at the Musical Rocks with a magnificent view of the valley. Travel through the unique terrain viewing Namibian endemic flora and fauna for example: Nara and Kalahari Melons and over 200 Species of Lichens.

10:00 am Travel via historic German farm ruins to the Desert Oasis of Gonikontas, where we will view the small museum and take a toilet stop. An opportunity for the clients to purchase a drink on their own cost.

10:30 am Continue by 4x4 through the river to the famous Welwitschia Mirabilis, the living fossil of Namibia. This plant is only found in the Namib Desert and gets to over 2000 years old.
11:15 am Drive the 60kms back to Swakopmund
