Go on a self-guided E Bike tour through the best of the Tweed hinterland to finish at the award-winning Husk Farm Distillery. (return transfer included)
E Bike effortlessly through nature reserves, the full length of The Northern Rivers Rail Trail, up windy lanes through the rainforest & across flat open cane fields. Guide yourself at your own pace with our custom smartphone app.
The new Rail Trail winds for 25km to the town of Murwillumbah along the path of an old railway line. It features many old bridges, remnants of track, great views and two tunnels (one 524m long with glowworms & microbats!) and no cars!
After the Rail Trail you will E bike with ease up into the rainforest & amazing views on the way to Bilambil, before descending down to finish in the grounds of Husk Farm Distillery for a well earned gin & tonic. (return transfer included)
We set you up with a great E Bike, helmet, hi-viz backpack, a smartphone app & off you go. Don't just rent a bike, have an adventure!
The start of your tour, the legendary Moo Moo roadhouse in Mooball.
We will arrive with the bikes opposite the roadhouse and set you up with a great E Bike, helmet, hi-viz backpack and a smartphone app to guide you. After a short bike and safety briefing you are all set to begin your adventure.
Option to cycle back form Mooball to Crabbes Creek, a lovely section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and the first tunnel on the route at Mills Road. Crabbes Creek is also home to a very cute general store which you can visit with a short diversion off the Trail. Take the diversion to the store or just cruise on by through the countryside on your way to Burringbar.
The nicest village stop on your E bike ride on the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. Go check out The Barn (great coffee and food), Brooklyn (wine tasting room) and Heaths Antiquities, a shop with so much old stuff you won’t believe it. On leaving Burringbar ride though The Pines, one of my favourite sections of the trail, a huge canopy of Pine trees
Between Burringbar and Stokers is, for many, the highlight of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, the Burringbar Tunnel. at 524m long is the longest tunnel on the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and an adventure to E Bike through it. Remember to turn on your bikes lights and look out for glowworms and micro bats!
After the Tunnel arrive in Stokers Siding, a sleepy hinterland village with cute old station post office shop, pottery and Art Gallery.
Just before you arrive in Dunbible, cross the historic railway bridge at Dunbible Creek, a great photo opportunity on the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.
A slight detour off the rail trail takes you to the Tweed Regional Art Gallery. A stunning location, some great art and the gorgeous Apex restaurant. A great stop for any culture lovers.
The end of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and a great location for lunch. We recommend Wild Thyme dining, Ju Jus or Relish if you want a simple cafe, or the Imperial Hotel (and award winning gelato bar next door!) for a pub lunch. Or keep going a bit further to the M Arts Precinct.
The awesome M Arts precinct in Murwillumbah. A collection of artists and creative businesses all under one roof. Browse the artists, enjoy some great food at Bistro Livi, Ben’s patisserie or the cheese shop, or have a drink at Mur bar (also the home of Spangled Drongo Brewery). Not to be missed for any visit to Murwillumbah
A truly beautiful road between Murwillumbah and Husk Distillery. Climb effortlessly on your E Bike through lush rainforest with stunning views across the cane fields to Mount Wollombin. Take in the fresh forest air and dip your feet into bubbling creeks. This road is optional depending on how long you want your tour to be, there is a quicker and flatter route to Husk through the cane fields.
The end point of the tour. Sit back and relax in the luscious grounds of Husk Farm Distillery. Have a bit to eat or one of their signature Squid Ink gin and tonics. We will then pick you and the bikes up and return to the start point at New Brighton.
We are located next to Moo Moo Roadhouse in Mooball. Feel free to park on-site in our customer parking area.
