You will be picked up from the airport with a briefing by your guide/driver. You will be driven north past the equator to the northern frontier district. Continue to the semi-arid Samburu National Reserve and check in to your campsite. Have lunch at the lodge. There will be time to settle in before your safari adventure in the afternoon. Set out for an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Enjoy twice daily game drives where you will see huge majestic elephant, lion, leopard and cheetah and all of the ‘special five’ which include the Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Gerenuk antelope and Somali ostrich.

During the early hours’ temperatures are low, thus providing a favorable atmosphere both for the game and the viewer. Lion, cheetah, and leopard roam the vast grasslands in search of their next meal, it may be an unsuspecting impala or even a small one like the warthog. After an early breakfast, enjoy a game drive en-route to the gate. Drive a southerly direction to the equator. Here, the locals do a water demonstration to qualify the position of the equator and for a small tip. After the brief stop, drive to the Thompsons Falls for a photo-stop then down into the Great Rift Valley. As you ascend the eastern wall of the Rift Valley, lush coffee and tea plantations reveal themselves and your driver guides will give you a brief talk about coffee farming in Kenya. Check out and drive via Narok town to Masai Mara National Reserve. The land of the Maasai tribe. After lunch, have your boat ride at an extra cost of $40 per person to Lake Naivasha, which is the only freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake in Kenya, outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County, which lies north west of Nairobi. It is part of the Great Rift Valley. An afternoon boat ride at extra cost among colonies of hippos will be ideal view over the Lake Naivasha.
