During the months of June to October the centre of the city is decorated with recycled materials, feels like a museum in the open skys.

Stop 6

Laurissilva the famous Laurel Forest of Madeira the view over the old majestic forest that covers over 26 percent of the island. A photo stop is a must.

Our famous FanaL FOREST - when the clouds come in the forest becomes very mystic. Large old Laurel trees some of the vegetation is over 800 year old. Protected by Unesco, this forest delights all visitors.
Please note this is a tour not a walk therfore the stop is only a photo stop.

Our drive through Ribeira da Janela to Porto moniz is of 25 minutes and a photo stop is important. This viewpoint where the (mini European Hawaii) can be seen, the north coast surrounded by the beautiful mountains, the window inside the scarp that gave the name to this point. When weather is clear you can see porto santo island.

Thsi village is very famous for the natural pools with normal sea temperature. If weather permits swimming is defintely a must. This is also our lunch break. There many restaurants and supermarket you can have lunch or a snack.
In the winter the stop is of 1 and half hours. Due to the weather its cold to swim in the winter.
In the summer we spend 2 hours.
This stop does not include lunch nor snacks or entrance to the paid pools. There are 2 pools the natural free none paid pools and the paid pools.

Seixal - water fall attractions - véu da noiva
Beautiful wine region. The slopes in the mountains all covered by vineyards, the rough sea through the north coast.
Our drive to Seixal is of 15 miunutes and 15 miutes to see the beautiful waterfall and north coast.

Our beautiful north coast of Madeira know as the little Hawaii of Europe because of the high waves suitable for surfing lovers. The old foot paths and the beautiful little chappel is a must.

Our drive from the north to south through the village of Serra de Agua should take us about 35 minute to Funchal.
Driving through our beautiful roads surrounded by the high mountains, high trees, pine, eucalyptus, mimosas, flowers alon the road like the agapanthus, hortensia.

Stop 16

The drive to Pico Arieiro throught the forests of Madeira.
The high trees seem to be leading the way trees like eucalyptus, mimosas, the flowers like the agapanthus, growing wild along side the road. The national park surrounded by our maderian plants like madeira prides, dandy lion, laurels. Arriving at our Black forest where the famous christmas pines grow, in the winter and spring, many species of mushrooms can be found. The sheep seem to guide us up into the mountains.
This route can be closed in the winter time due to the snow or bad weather.

Stop 17

Finally our arrival at the third high mountain of this island, high cliffs embraced by riverbeds, separating the western side and the nuns valley. rOn the top at 1800m feeling like heaven on earth, sometimes above the clouds enjoying this magical moment. This place is now very popular for the sunrise and sundown. Bring a jacket at this altitude it can get a little cold.

The drive to our next stop along the cold river bed, surrounded by the forest (laurissilva) laurel forest, green all year round, the springs and waterfalls along the road making it a pleasure to drive through. This area of Madeira is very popular for cannoying and famous maderian barbecue. altitude of 880m. Very majestic, magical drive.
Drive of 20 minutes.

The levadas play an important role in this island, bring water from the high mountains down to the villages. When visiting this island this is almost compulsory, walking the water channels, this walk is suitable for everyone 50 minute flat along the forest laurissilva arriving at the viewpoint, the view to the hightest point of island can be seen, the Faial Village, eagles rock, little gardens cultivated and where crops grow. The visit of many birds that delight many visitors. Walk back to the bus where the tour will continue to Santana.

Stop 21

Santana a beautiful little city, embraced by terraces of beautiful corn, maize, beans, avocados, lemons.
The old thatch houses once inhabited by the locals.
Small houses where many people lived in the same space.
Visit the square of Santana with its beautiful garden and typical houses (casa do colmo) a stop of one and half hours to get some lunch and continue exploring this amazing place. Attractions in Santana, the church, the viewpoint cable car station, on the weekends there is the outside farmers market.

The new skywalk of Madeira, overlooking the Faial village, ocean and the São Lourenço eastern point of Madeira.
The eagles rock and when weather permits a great view of Porto Santo island. Our drive to this point is of 10 minutes and 10 minutes to visit the view.

Driving to Porto da Cruz 15 minutes

Sugarcane plays an important role in this island, used for our famous drink poncha, cocktails and wine. This old sugarcane factory where the machines still work on steam. although the production is onlu between March to May its always a pleasure to see this building.
Rum tasting is also included, made in the factory. After the tasting a visit to the village, the beach famous for surfing, the cliffs coming down almost like a long beautiful gown.
There are days where the waves are high and come crushing into the beach.

Our drive to Machico, of 15 minutes known as the old Capital of Madeira, once driving through the city comes to life, the houses built in the mountains, cultivated beautiful fields, the view over the sea and the artifical sandy beach, the planes passing through coming into the Santa Cruz Airport.

Arriving at this islands dry area. The colour of the rocks, the great volcanic formation, the beach with mixture of black and yellow sand. This São Lourenço viewpoint is amazing, Guests can sit and enjoy this site of natural beauty.
Enjoy a poncha or a coffee at this magical place.
Very popular for the sunset and sunrise.
Caniçal a fishing village where the tuna fish is very popular and some small tunas are dried and salted just like cod fish.
The fisherman boats along the port and the industrial port.

Stop 29 Pass by

Our drive to Monte is of 20 minutes

Stop 30

Monte the hill of Madeira above 550m. The sight of the cable car coming up, the famous garden Monte Palace Garden,
The public Garden where the colour of the flowers are so beautiful, the magnolia trees. Amazing site.
The church of Monte built in the 18th century after the earthquake in 1755, the altar where the small Shrine is found. The last burial place of Emperor Charles, the statue of the emperor outside the church as you walking the stairs.
The view over Funchal. To make the visit even more intersting, enjoy the Hydroline of the basket sledge ride of 2km, pushed by 2 men controlled by ropes and special boots with soles made of the same material of the car tyre.
At the end of the exciting ride the guide will pick you up.
This program does not include the sledge ride.

Stop 31 Pass by

Our drive to Eira do Serrado of 20 minutes through Funchal our capital, leaving Funchal, through the mountain road of Camara de Lobos, surrounded by the wild trees, mimosas, chestnuts, eucalyptus, ginger cherry trees, the houses in the cliffs away from civilization where one wonders how people get about. The mountains joining the south to the central part of the island, the riverbed. The old roads once used by the buses and cars. Today the access is by foot.
What a majesty views.

Stop 32

At 1100m the view of the nuns valley hidden from the rest of the island. Place where the nuns hide out during the pirate invasion in the island. The formation of a volcanic crater formed by erosion, landslides, lives a small community.
Beautiful place to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Stop 33 Pass by

After the viewpoint our drive to nuns valley through the narrow bends and tunnel is of 15 minutes.

Village down from the mountains at over 600 metres, hidden country side, houses in the cliffs where the access is by foot, small corners where the sun forgets to shine leaving the locals in the shade all year round.
Take this moment to visit the centre little warmer and with sunshine, viist to the small church, the nuns house there is cost of 1€ to visit. Old original House of 200 years.
Because the nuns valley is very popular for all the fruits, they make their famous liquors and we invite guests to taste these handmade drinks free.
The chessnut is king in this village, one of the reasons why they make many cakes, products from chessnut.
This stop delights many visitors.

Our drive to the viewpoint pico dos Barcelos. Drive of 30 minutes.

The most popular viewpoint in Funchal - 355 metres
with 360 degree view over the capital.
In the winter the view of the Cruiseliners lined up in the port of Funchal. In December 31st many people came to see the famous fireworks.
Beautiful way to end this 3 day program.
