Once you're geared up, we’ll set off from the heart of Luang Prabang, pedaling through the quiet morning streets toward our first destination: Wat Pa Phon Phao, a serene golden temple perched on a hilltop offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside.
From there, we’ll continue our journey along a scenic paved road that winds through lush teakwood forests, vibrant rice paddies, and alongside the tranquil Nam Khan River. Along the way, we’ll pause to visit the resting place of Henry Mouhot, the French explorer credited with bringing Angkor Wat to the attention of the Western world. This peaceful site offers a moment of reflection before we ride onward through charming local villages and past jungle-covered mountains, immersing ourselves in the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region.
Here, surrounded by the serene river valley, we’ll board a boat for a short ride to the starting point of our jungle trek. The hike is gentle and enjoyable, taking us through dense tropical vegetation at the base of dramatic Karst limestone mountains, where the sounds of nature accompany every step.
Midway through the trek, we’ll arrive at a large Khmu hill-tribe village, where we’ll stop for a delicious local lunch and have time to explore and learn about traditional village life.
After lunch, we’ll descend along a newly established trail that leads us to the stunning Tad Sae Waterfall (seasonal). Here, you’ll have time to relax, take in the beauty of the cascading falls, and enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool, clear pools. Keep an eye out—there’s a small chance you might spot an elephant in the area, adding a touch of magic to your adventure.
To wrap up the day, we’ll take a short boat ride downriver where a vehicle will be waiting to transport you back to Luang Prabang. This full-day tour offers a perfect blend of cycling, trekking, cultural immersion, and natural exploration, making it an unforgettable experience for adventure lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.
