Detailed itinerary

Taman Gili Kertha Gosa features spacious and open halls inside a walled compound. Unique and traditional Balinese architecture can be seen throughout the gates, walls and main structures, and the main distinctive highlight of Kertha Gosa are the painted ceilings in the halls. These paintings feature a technique often described as Kamasan style. Kamasan itself is a village in Klungkung that has become renowned for its typical style of paintings of wayang or traditional Balinese shadow puppetry figures. Kamasan paintings generally take inspiration from notable Hindu epics such as the Ramayana or the Mahabharata.

2

Our eyes are also pampered with a sea view is visible from above of Bukit Jambul Rice Terrace, from the distance we can see the group of Nusa Penida islands. On the lane winding and uphill, we could see the storied field and clove trees are fertile. Sidemen east region would look towering hill, look south we will see paddy field area of Klungkung District and surrounding. At the top of the hill there is a temple called Puncak Sari Temple which is surrounded by large trees.

Besakih Temple features three temples dedicated to the Hindu trinity. Pura Penataran Agung in the centre has white banners for Shiva, the destroyer : Pura Kiduling Kreteg on the right side is with red banners for Brahma, the creator and Pura Batu Madeg represents Vishnu, the preserver, with its black banners. You can visit other temples in Pura Besakih, but many of their inner courtyards are closed to the public as they were reserved for pilgrims. Besakih Temple is the only temple open to every devotee from any caste groups. This is because of its nature as the primal centre of all ceremonial activities. Pura Batu Madeg, containing a central stone, indicates that the area of Besakih Temple was already regarded a holy place since ancient times. In the 8th century, a Hindustani monk had revelations to build homes for people during his isolation.

Stop 4

Tirta Empul Temple meaning holy water spring is actually the name of a water source located within the temple. The spring feeds various purification baths, pools and fish ponds surrounding the outer perimeter, which all flow to the Tukad Pakerisan River. As is common with Balinese temples, the Tirta Empul Temple complex has three key divisions, namely a front, secondary and inner courtyard.

Mas Village is one of the most famous Bali Places of Interest located very close to Ubud and is therefore of a similar landscape but Mas is not as developed in to the tourism market as Ubud and retains a traditional charm and feel. Where Ubud is the village of the painters, Mas is the village of the carvers where some of the most incredible woodcarvings are produced and have been produced for hundreds of years.
