One of the main advantages of cycling in Slovenia are good quality roads and light traffic, so expect to feel the freedom of the road from start to finish. The trail is very popular among locals, with sections of it running along the famous Franja Marathon.
We’ll wind our way along the foothills of the Polhov Gradec Dolomites, part of the gorgeous pre-Alpine hilly region of north-western Slovenia, and ascend the highest peak Sv. Trije Kralji (Three Holy Kings) with a church of the same name. The 850 m summit offers spectacular views and doubles as our quick pit-stop.
Our tour will then descend into the lowlands, past the scenic municipality of Horjul, and back to Ljubljana for a nice refreshing drink.
