Berat castel, also referred to as the Citadel of Berat and castle quarter, is a fortress overlooking the town of Berat, Albania. It dates mainly from the 13th century and contains many Byzantine churches in the area and Ottoman mosques. It is built on a rocky hill on the left bank of the river Osum and is accessible only from the south. It is situated at an elevation of 214 metres.

The Mangalem neighborhood complex is unique in the art of construction. It has the shape of a pyramid that mimics the silhouette of a hill, at the top of which the castle is erected. Mangalemi is one of the most photographed, painted, carved in wood and stone; is the emblem of Berat.

Museu of Onufri dates from 1797 and is built on the existing foundations of a 19th century church. The works of Onufri are exhibited here.
