Cabo Girão is one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe at 580m. Be brave and walk along the glass floor skywalk extending out over the top of the cliff and admire the amazing views.
On the way to Porto Moniz we will take the road along Paul da Serra - the largest and most extensive plateau of the island at 1400m above the sea – enjoy the green landscape of mountains and valleys.
Next stop at Porto Moniz – located in the north of the island, town well-known for its natural swimming pools formed from volcanic rocks.
From Porto Moniz, traverse by seaside roads surrounded by rocky
terrain to ogle impressive waterfalls. Afterward, head to historical Sao Vicente , enjoy charming streets and monuments in town before stopping for lunch.
The Cabanas Viewpoint is located between São Jorge and Arco de São Jorge. On clear days, you can see the neighbouring island of Porto Santo.
Save some selfies for the following alluring area of Santana with its famous cottages. The Centre for Traditional Santana houses presents some of the typical houses of Santana, where you can get regional products.
Finally, explore the town of Machico where voyageurs famously left to discover new lands by sea in the 1420s. Return to Funchal.
