The construction of the Igreja Matriz São Pedro de Gramado was inspired by the Roman architectural style. There were about 78 thousand basalt stones, which were extracted from quarries near the city of Gramado, and were dragged in dollies pulled by oxen.
The sacred stained glass windows of the church were painted by the German artist Pedro Dobmeier that mark the passages in the life of the apostle Peter alongside Jesus Christ.
The church bell weighs about 1,000 pounds. It was created in bronze, steel and tin. In 2009 the bell was electronically systematized. The total height of the church is 860 meters, 46 meters high of the tower.

The parish of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes was created in 1937, but the construction of the cathedral only started in 1953 and was completed in 1987. The striking English Gothic style, designed by architect Bernardo Sartori, offers a memorable external view. Inside, stained glass windows with Our Lady, Via Sacra and a large sculpture of Holy Communion decorate a nave that can accommodate up to 800 people seated. The tower, 65 meters high, has a carillon of 12 bronze bells brought from Italy, which daily calls the faithful to the six o'clock mass.
But it is when night falls that the surprise begins! Lights color the stone walls of the Cathedral, while even stronger beams of light come out of its structure and gain the skies of this small town, which at this moment looms large, taken by the music and the plastic beauty of this unique show of sound and light.
