Baños de Agua Santa is a city located at 1.820 meters above sea level (5,971 ft), on the north-eastern flanks of the Tungurahua Volcano (5.000 m - 16,404 ft), with a population of 12.995 inhabitants. It is an important tourist destination of Ecuador, located only at 176 Km south from Quito, and it is a natural entrance to the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest! For this exciting full day trip, your tour guide will pick you up at 5:30 a.m. from your hotel in Quito.
On the way you could admire beautiful volcanoes like: Antisana, Los Ilinizas, Cotopaxi and the Mother Tungurahua, while you have your breakfast!
You will take a local transportation at 9:00 a.m. to drive downhill way to Pastaza River (level III+), located between the Sangay and Llanganates National Parks, which is considered one of the main tributaries that feeds the Amazon River. The white water river rafting tour will let you see the dramatic changes of vegetation, from the pre-mountain subtropical rainforest until the Amazon tropical rainforest!! We will stop at an altitude of 1.050 meters above sea level (3,444 ft). After this unforgettable experience we will have a tasty lunch, and then you'll be ready to explore the "Avenue of the Waterfalls"!
We begin with a downhill way hike to the Devil's Cauldron or "Pailón del Diablo” waterfall.
You will cross the Pastaza River canyon using a cable car that rides through a 500 meters-long-cable, to visit Manto de la Novia waterfall, and finally we will enjoy a spectacular view of the Agoyan waterfall!
You will be back in your hotel of Quito approximately at 7:00 p.m. End of this fantastic adventure day!
