Unique beekeeping experience underneath the Tajo Lagarin, with vultures overhead and spectacular views. Get to know beekeeping in Spain and it´s endemic Iberian bee.
I invite you to come visit the apiary and experience the beauty and fascination of beekeeping. After a brief introduction to the life of bees and beekeeping, we will put on our protective clothing and set off to the bee-colonies. Together we will go find the queen, watch bees dance and seek out male bees – the drones. You will discover how bees make comb and even bread, the bee-bread. And you will learn how to distinguish the finished honey from the nectar stored in the comb.
Of course your day wouldn´t be complete without trying the delicious honey yourself.
At the entrance of the village El Gastor you will pass by a small Mirador with a parking spot. I will meet you there
