1/Day :Pick up from Lhasa Gongkar airport and transfer to hotel, free activities the rest of day in order to acclimate the altitude.
2/Day :Lhasa city tour, Potala-palace, Jokhang temple and Barkhor old street market. In the morning visit the Potala-Palace, the most important and significant construction of Tibet with history over 1400 years, it is divided into two palaces, the red and white, the red is symbol of religious and white is symbol of politic.In the afternoon visit the oldest temple of Tibet: Jokhang temple, Jokhang means house of the Buddha, it was built in 642 BC at the time of Tubo king Songtsen Gampo.it is the most sacred temple of Tibet. After the temple, visit the oldest and traditional Barkhor market around Jokhang temple, Barkhor means the middle clockwise path, it is actually to make clockwise or walk around temple. Here you can see lots of Tibetan traditional handicrafts and souvenirs. Share your rest of day in Barkhor street market.
3/Day : There are three biggest Gelugpa yellow hat monasteries in Lhasa, today we are going to visit two of them, Drepung and Sera monasteries, In the morning we visit Drepung monastery which is located 8km to the west of Lhasa city at the below of Gyalpen Wutse mount, Drepung in Tibetan means “a pile of rice” , it was built in 1416 by Jamyang Choeje Tashi Palden, the great disciple of master Tsongkhapa, It was once the house for 7700 monks and there are four main Khangtsen or colleges in Drepung monastery. they are “Loseling, Gomang, Deyang and Ngagpa. The main shrine is Maitreya, Jampa Thongtrol the future Buddha. It is saying that once you visit or see this Maitreya Buddha you would escape from suffering. so every year lots of pilgrims visit there.In the afternoon visit Sera monastery which is around 5 km to the north of Lhasa city at the below of Sera Utse mount or hermitage, another biggest Yellow hat monastery of Lhasa built in 1419 by Jamchen Choeje Shakya Yeshi, he is also a very great disciple of master Tsongkhapa. It was house for 5500 monks in the old time. Sera in Tibetan means hail storm and it is saying that there was a big hail storm when the monastery was built, so the monastery named Sera. There are three main colleges : Sera Je, Sera Me and Sera Ngagpa. The most holy shrine of Sera monastery is Hayagriva, the horse-necked and it is dug out from underneath at site of monastery was built during that time. The philosophy debate of Sera monastery was attracted by all the visitors and pilgrims there in the afternoon. After that go back to hotel and relax.
4/Day :Today we drive 160 km around 2 hours to Tsedang the main city of Lhoka prefecture and the third biggest city of Tibet after Lhasa and Shigatse, It is also called Yarlung, the cradle of Tibetan culture, such as first king, first palace every first in Tibetan culture came from there, there we visit Samye monastery. The magic temple and the first ever monastery of Tibet built in 8th century at the time of Tibetan 38th king Trisong Detsen, he invited the great master Padmasambhava and abbot Shantarakshita from India. Samye is also the first buddhist institute of Tibet because most of Tibetan scriptures were translated at Samye from sanskrit into Tibetan language during that time. Samye is the biggest and most important monastery in Lhoka prefecture. After Samye we drive back to Tsedang and visit the Yumbulagang palace : the first palace of Tibet built in 2nd century BC, it was actually built for the Tibetan first king Nyatri Tsanpo, Yumbu Lagang was built on the Tashi Tsering mount. You have to walk up the steps to palace nearly half an hour even you can ride the camel or horse. There is not too much to visit there, but it’s very worth to visit, after the palace drive back to hotel and take a good relax the rest day.
5/Day :In the morning we visit very famous and important Tranduk temple, it is also very sacred one built the same time as Jokhang in the seventh century, It is saying that when the temple was built a dragon with five headed landed here, also the temple enshrined the two most holy shrine, the speaking Tara and pearl thangka of Avalokitesvara. After visiting the temple we keep driving back to Lhasa around two hours beyond the Yarlung tsangpo river and take a relax rest of day.
6/Day :Transfer to Lhasa airport, end six days memorable tour in Tibet and returning back to sweet home.
