About this experience

A local guide will show you all of the highlights of Acadia National Park plus the famous Somes Sound and Asticou Gardens!

We will pick you up and we’ll drive along the stunning 27-mile long Park Loop Road up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain, the highest peak on the eastern seaboard. From Cadillac you can see spectacular views of Bar Harbor and the surrounding islands.

See all of the famous sites on the Park Loop Road, including Cadillac Mountain, Rockefeller’s stone bridges & Carriage House, Otter Cliffs, Thunder Hole, and Sieur du Monts Gardens and Nature Center. See Sand Beach surrounded by the famous pink granite coastline.

We will continue out of the park to see the summer colony of Northeast Harbor and stroll through the famous Asticou Gardens. See gorgeous harbors, yachts and picnic boats.

We can stop and stay as long as you would like at each location. We will point out trailheads and carriage roads to explore on your own.

Somes Sound is a fjord, a body of water running deep into Mount Desert Island, the main site of Acadia National Park in Maine, United States. Its deepest point is approximately 175 feet, and it is over 100 feet deep in several places. The sound almost splits the island in two.

Meeting point

If you are coming by ship we will meet you at the tender pier. If you arrive early explore town and we can pick you up there.

Important notes

If you are coming by CRUISE SHIP please book a tour start time at least 2 HOURS after arrival. We are a tendered port, call 207-288-9222 when you are on the tender so we can inform the guide to come meet you. We are only allowed to wait at the pier for 10 minutes. Due to the timed entries into Acadia National Park, if you are delayed more than 30 minutes past the your tour start time the tour will be canceled with no refund.

We will pick you up to start the tour from any downtown Bar Harbor location. If you are arriving by Cruise Ship we will meet you where you disembark from the tenders. If you are staying outside of Bar Harbor we will meet you at the main entrance to Acadia National Park, The Hulls Cove Visitor Center. You can park there all day for free.

We will supply the tour pass you will need to enter the park. Your privately held passes, such as Senior or military passes are not accepted in commercial vehicles.
