After hotel pickup in Dubai, venture south by air-conditioned vehicle to Abu Dhabi, hearing about the city's explosive growth on the back of its 1950s oil boom from your guide as you travel.
On arrival, enjoy a tour of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the world’s largest mosques. Explore the white marble arcades and courtyards, and visit the prayer room as you hear about the mosque’s design and significance.
Continue to Yas Island for photo-ops outside Yas Marina Circuit and Ferrari World, and then drive by the surreal-looking cultural buildings sprouting up on Saadiyat Island.
Pass Qasr Al Hosn, former home of Abu Dhabi’s royals, and after a break for lunch (own expense) at the Mall, see Corniche and Emirates palaces before visiting Heritage Village to learn about the city’s original Bedouin culture.
