Our electric yacht is 100% sustainable, emissions and noise free, making it climate safe, and Lake Taupo’s best sailing experience.

We have been sailing to the iconic Maori Rock Carvings since 1982!

This all-year-round activity offers relaxation, fun and adventure on the water, the Kiwi way. Get right up close to this culturally significant 46 foot (14m) high rock art.

Excellent, amusing and current commentary on lake, the volcanics and the carvings. Free refreshments including tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mulled wine (winter only). We are licenced but you are welcome to bring your own. BYO

Swimming is encouraged.

All departures are subject to demand, minimum numbers, lake and weather conditions. We reserve the right to transfer customers to an alternative boat should weather conditions allow it. This will not alter the tour route or inclusions.

Meeting point

We are located in front of Stir Cafe - a dark grey caravan converted into a cafe. Look for the tall white and green blade flag this is where you need to meet, Berth 9 and 10.

• PASSENGERS MUST BE AT THE BOAT 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO DEPARTURE TIME for seating and safety briefing. We leave on time.
• Sail Barbary is located at Redoubt Street, Berths 9 & 10, Taupo Boat Harbour, Taupo.
• Main access to the Taupo Boat Harbour is either from Redoubt St or Story Place. Free parking is available
• What to Bring: Dress casual, comfortable and warm (layered clothes work best), windproof/showerproof jacket, swimwear and towel (during summer), sunglasses and hat.
• Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
