B&Bs tend to be located on the outskirts of towns and you should be prepared for a 20-30 minute walk to local facilities like pubs and restaurants. If you have difficulty with stairs, please mention it to us as lifts will not be available in this type of property.

*Please note: Hopetoun House will be closed to visitors from 30 September to 21 October. During this time, the grounds will remain open and free to explore. This impacts Day 4 of the tour. However, on 7 and 21 October, Hopetoun House and its grounds will be completely closed, so visits will not be possible. Instead, we will extend our time at other stops on those days.
*For departures on the following dates: - 26 September: Blackness Castle will be visited on Day 1. On Day 4, Doune Castle will be replaced with Linlithgow Palace. - 30 September & 3 October: There will be no visit to Blackness Castle on Day 1, instead this will be replaced by a pre-booked visit to Culross Palace. On Day 4, Doune Castle will be replaced with Linlithgow Palace. - 7 October & 14 October: On Day 4, Blackness Castle will be replaced with Linlithgow Palace.
