Have you ever wanted to relive that iconic opening scene where Renton is nearly hit by the car and gives an evil grin to the driver?
If you loved trainspotting and it had an impact on your life, as it did mine, this tour was made for you. I could not imagine missing the story of trainspotting while in Edinburgh. Go at your own pace, anytime. The tour is location aware and plays as you walk on our walking tour app.
The tour starts outside the Levi's store, where the iconic opening scene of Trainspotting begins. Do you remember Renton and the crew hauling down the road? This was the spot it started. Then you'll be guided step by step through Edinburgh learning about the movie, scenes, and the history of the city.
The tour ends at the scene where Renton is hit by the car, he stop, looks at the driver and gives that evil, addicted, energetic, crazy smile as his crew runs under the bridge.
You'll walk up Hanover, with the historic buildings behind, walking the same route Spud and Renton ran in the movie, as you hear about how they filmed the movie without permits here.
You'll walk down Princes street, and other streets, hearing the stories of Trainspotting, how it was filmed, where some scenes downtown were filmed, and how the movie reflected on the drug culture of the time.
The tour stops outside of Harvey Nichols Forth Floor Brasserie and Bar, a scene you might remember from T2. And you'll hear about why it was chosen, and the movie.
