First, we will explore the ancient city of Hierapolis. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its historical heritage, well-preserved ruins, and healing thermal waters. It is a Greco-Roman spa city, attracting visitors who sought treatment in its mineral-rich hot springs.
We will visit the Necropolis, one of the largest ancient cemeteries in Anatolia, the Roman Baths, the Domitian Gate, and Frontinus Street, the city’s main thoroughfare. We will also see the Agora, Byzantium Gate, Triton Fountain, Cathedral, Apollon Temple, Plutonium (an ancient sacred cave), and the Theater.
Hierapolis is not just an archaeological wonder but also a place of spiritual significance, as it is believed to be where St. Philip the Apostle was martyred. The city’s combination of history, mythology, and natural beauty.
