Castle of Versailles
The castle is among the most prestigious monuments of the world's artistic heritage and certainly constitutes the most beautiful and complete achievement of French art of the 17th century. Former residence of the “Sun King” Louis XIV, this sumptuous royal palace housed three of the most illustrious kings of France for more than 100 years. The palace tour includes the official apartments of the King and Queen, the Royal Chapel and the Hall of Mirrors, an ornate gallery featuring 357 mirrors, floor-to-ceiling windows and crystal chandeliers.
