We start our tour by visiting the House of Virgin Mary, which was discovered in the dreams of Sister Catherine Emmerich and is an important pilgrimage point. Catholic pilgrims visit, believing that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was brought to this stone house by the Apostle John and lived and died in this house until she was taken to heaven. It was officially declared a shrine of the Roman Catholic Church in 1896 and has since become a popular pilgrimage site. After visiting here, we set out to explore the ancient city of Ephesus.
