About this experience

Materuni is located under the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel early morning then head to Moshi. The village is surrounded by beautiful tropical rainforests giving you a scenic view of the city. Visitors will also get to explore the cultural heritage of the Chagga people such as banana beer and coffee roasted traditionally, you can join in the coffee-making process to its final. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is a good place for a refreshing swim after the hike but it depends on the weather. You will have your lunch and fresh fruits at Materuni after a cup of coffee. After Materuni you will move to Kikuletwa hot spring with a fantastic pool with warm water and fish in it offering a free legs massage. You will have a few hours to relax, chat, and swim while having a beer/soft drink before heading back to your hotel or airport.

Materuni Waterfall is one of the Waterfalls in Kilimanjaro Region, North East Tanzania favoring Day trips. It is found in the village of Materuni on the edge of the Kilimanjaro mountain reserve. The waterfall is blessed with a great view of the tropical rainforest, coffee plantations, bananas, and avocados.

Coffee Excursion; In this visit, you will get enough explanation on how coffee is grown from its zero age to when it is used as a drink. They have all facilities to help with lesson reinforcement. The explanation takes about one hour. You can participate in the making process together with local dances and songs then you will finally have some cups of fresh coffee made as they prepare a delicious lunch buffet with some fresh fruits for you.

The hot springs of Kikuletwa, also known as Chemka Hot Springs, are close to the village of Rundugai and are one of the most beautiful places in Northern Tanzania to relax. After Materuni we will drive to the hotspring. The spring is surrounded by palm and fig trees with winding roots. Blue Monkeys can often be observed in the trees in the morning, whilst the crystal clear water invites you to a refreshing bath. Enjoy a wonderful day trip in the sun dozing, playful activities with friends at the small bar and swimming as you have some bottles of beer or soda. In the late afternoon, we will return relaxed to the city.
