Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

“The most beautiful relic of ancient Rome, a temple so well preserved that it appears as the Romans must have seen it in their times,” so described it the French writer Stendhal in the 19th century (from outside).

2
Stop 2

The Trevi Fountain was designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi (1732) and completed by Giuseppe Pannini and several others. Standing 26.3 metres (86 ft) high and 49.15 metres (161.3 ft) wide, it is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. The fountain has appeared in several notable films, including Roman Holiday, Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita, the eponymous Three Coins in the Fountain, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and Sabrina Goes to Rome.

3
Stop 3

Piazza di Spagna, at the bottom of the Spanish Steps, is one of the most famous squares in Rome. It owes its name to the Palazzo di Spagna, seat of the Embassy of Spain among the Holy See. Nearby is the famed Column of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

4
Stop 4

Is there a more famous Italian monument in the world? Is there anybody that hasn’t heard of it? Its history, its spaces, the atmosphere and emotions it stirs in all those that visit it are the very symbol and essence of this city and its great past.
(from outside).

5
Stop 5 Pass by

The Arch of Constantine is a triumphal arch in Rome, situated between the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill

6
Stop 6 Pass by

For centuries the Forum was the center of day-to-day life in the ancient Rome.
(from outside).

7
Stop 7 Pass by

The Circus Maximus (Latin for greatest or largest circus; Italian: Circo Massimo) is an ancient Roman chariot-racing stadium and mass entertainment venue. The site is now a public park.

8

Piazza Venezia is the central hub of Rome, in which several thoroughfares intersect, including the Via dei Fori Imperiali and the Via del Corso. It takes its name from the Palazzo Venezia, built by the Venetian Cardinal alongside the church of Saint Mark, the patron saint of Venice. The Palazzo Venezia served as the embassy of the Republic of Venice in Rome. One side of the Piazza is the site of Italy's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Altare della Patria, part of the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy. The piazza or square is at the foot of the Capitoline Hill and next to Trajan's Forum. The main artery, the Via di Fori Imperiali begins there and leads past the Roman Forum to the Colosseum.

9
Stop 9

Navona Square is one of the most spectacular and characteristic squares of Baroque Rome, built on the remains of the Stadium of Domitian. The shape of the current square reproduces precisely the perimeter of the ancient stadium that the emperor built in 86 AD for athletics competitions and horse racing.

10
Stop 10

The Piazza Campo de'Fiori is a square with the most famous daily open market in the old center of Rome. Free time for a Typical Roman Lunch (your own expense).

11
Stop 11

St. Peter's Basilica from outside and Square
Designed principally by Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, St. Peter's is the most renowned work of Renaissance architecture and the largest church in the world.

In a big group chance are that you'll have to wait much longer for people lingering at the sights and stand in line longer for the toilets or at the snack counter. You will also have much less one on one time with your driver and guide or time to ask questions, because you'll have to share them with a lot more people.
