About this experience

The Diamond Circle tour is an unforgettable experience to some of Iceland´s most amazing natural wonders. We embark on a tour that takes you to the most beautiful places in North Iceland. The landscape and power of nature at magnificent Godafoss. The wonderers Asbyrgi where it is believed that it is formed when Sleipnir, the horse of the god Odin, touched the ground with one of his eight legs. We come to Dettifoss the most powerful waterfall in Europe and to Myvatn that will take your breath away. At the Lake Myvatn district we will visit Dimmiborgir lava maze and hike through the area.We also visit Hverir geothermal area where we will experience the bubbling mud pits.

Stop 1

We drive from Akureryi to Goðafoss or the Waterfall of the gods is magnificent and majestic to see. The drive to Godafoss will take us around 30 minutes and we stop at the waterfall for 30 minutes.

Stop 2

We drive from Godafoss to Dimmuborgir for 35 minutes. We hike through the wonderful Lava maze of Dimmuborgir and enjoy nature optional is to take lunch at the restaurant. This is a 50 minutes stop.

Stop 3

From Dimmuborgir we have 15 minutes drive to the geothermal area with the wonderous bubbling mud pits. We have a stop there for 15 minutes.

Stop 4

From the Hverir we drive for 40 minutes to Europes highest and most powerful waterfall Dettifoss. We stop and enjoy the waterfall for an hour.

To Asbyrgi from Hljodaklettar we have around an 40minutes drive. Asbyrgi canyon is shaped like a horses hove and is a wonderful nature paradise where we will hike for 35 minutes.

Stop 6

The drive from Asbyrgi to Husavik is around 50 minutes and we make a stop there for photos and bathrooms for 20 minutes.

We head back to Akureyri through the scenic nature with a couple of photostops on the way. This drive is around 80 minutes.
