Today you are going to visit Vlora, one of the most beautiful towns in Albania blessed with Adriatic and the Ionian Sea. The first visit will be at Zvërnec, Narta lagoon. The island where the Monastery is located is connected to the land through a very picturesque and unique wooden bridge 270 m long, where we will walk across the Zvërneci lagoon with the morning sun. The monastery was built during the 13 century and is dedicated to Mary. During communism time was used for military purposes, hence its beautiful frescos are deteriorated and in need of immediate restoration.
After we will head towards Vlora, where we will visit the Kanina fortress with a magnificent view of Vlora bay. Then will visit the old heart of Vlora town and explain its history.
At about 10 am we will arrive at Zvërnec, Narta lagoon. After wondering about 1 hour visiting the monastery and the island we will head towards Vlora, where we will visit the Kanina fortress with a magnificent view of Vlora bay, Narta Lagoon, Karaburun peninsula, Adriatik, and Iranian Sea.
Now we will visit the old heart of Vlora town and explain its history. Vlora is the city of our independence and it has an important role in our past and present. The port of Vlora is one of the most important on the Adriatic Sea and the rocky coast of the Ionian sea is one the most visited during summertime. Recently the historical part of Vlora is renovated, which we are going to visit.
