Jozani forest is best known for its red Colobus monkeys, which roam freely through the forest. Besides this rare monkey, you will also get a chance to see other monkey species, all kinds of beautiful butterflies and a lot of different birds. After spotting the monkeys, your guides will show you the nearby Jozani mangroves, which are really important for the Zanzibar ecosystem.
During this trip you will take a boat from the shores of Stone Town and head to the beautiful Prison Island in about 30 minutes. The prison was built in 1893 and is currently owned by a hotel. Nowadays the island is most famous for its tortoise sanctuary. Also you will get a chance to snorkel in the deep blue water surrounding Prison Island or you can just relax and enjoy the breathtaking beaches.

The town was constructed of coral stone in the 19th and 20th century and contains a mixture of Arabic, African and Indian cultures. During this tour, your guide will take you through the narrow streets of Stone Town to visit the old slave market, the Darajani market place, the Old Fort, the Sultan’s place and many more places.
