Detailed itinerary

1

Explore Panna Meena Ka Kund (stepwell), a little-known gem on the way to Amber Fort. It was built over 400 years ago and features stunning architecture and labyrinthine staircases that will take your breath away!
Amber Fort is located 11 kilometers north of central Jaipur. This massive fort-palace complex, built in a hybrid Hindu-Muslim style, dates back to Raja Man Singh and served as the palace of the Kachwahas from 1600-1727. The fort is not named after the rather pretty pastel yellow colour; rather, it is named after the town of Amber, whose name was in turn derived from the goddess Amba. The main sights within the fort include the Sheesh Mahal, adorned with thousands on thousands of mirror tiles on the walls and ceiling. The fort/palace grounds are sprawling so we recommend hiring a guide. We can assist with this process.

Stop 2

Jantar Mantar is a UNESCO world heritage site. It iss the largest of five observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh between 1727 and 1734 in north India. There are fourteen major geometric devices (or yantras in Hindi) in this observatory for measuring time, predicting eclipses, tracking stars in their orbits, determining planet declinations, and determining celestial heights, etc.

Stop 3

The Royal City Palace is located in the heart of old Jaipur. It is a spectacular example of the amalgamation of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Commissioned to be built by the founder of Jaipur, Maharaja Jai Singh II, this lavish palace includes the living quarters of the erstwhile royal family, some of whom still reside in a private wing.

Jaipur's most-distinctive landmark, the Hawa Mahal is an extraordinary pink-painted, delicately honeycomb hive that rises a dizzying five storeys. Haw Mahal is famous for its amazing and unique architecture. This palace features 953 windows, called jharokhas, that are beautifully incorporated into the honeycomb design. In addition to providing a window to the outside world for the royal women, these windows helped in keeping the palace airy and cool.

Jaipur, the 'pink city of India', is best known for its extraordinary monuments and royal heritage. It's also known for textiles, pottery and gems. We are happy to share a few of our favourite places to visit or markets within the pink city to shop.
