The tour begins at Gaudi's Sagrada Familia, one of the most famous (even though unfinished) cathedrals in the world and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Next, you’ll head to another masterpiece by Gaudi: Casa Milà, known by locals as “La Pedrera”. Once you visit Casa Milà you will notice that its most distinctive feature is the roof which is adorned with skylights, staircase exits, fans and chimneys, all designed in Gaudi’s own unique architectural style.
The tour will then move on to the Paseig de Gracia where you will experience the fantastic views of the exteriors of the Casa Batlò and the Block of Discord.
Anton Gaudi, Domènech i Montaner and Josep Puig i Cadfaich are widely regarded as the greatest of Catalonia’s modernist architects and hearing about these three architectural titans will give you a great appreciation of Catalan architecture.
After a lunch break (at your expense) we will leave Gaudi and jump back through several centuries from Modernism to the medieval past of Barcelona, as the tour continues into the Gothic District. This is an area shrouded in legends of Barcelona’s aristocratic families. As well as discovering Barcelona’s medieval past, you will also explore some of its Roman history. Part of the Gothic district is situated on the site of Roman ruins and the ancient Roman walls are still visible today.
