Bomas of Kenya is an interesting popular cultural center to wind up your day tour in the afternoon, here a vibrant presentation of tribal songs and dances including acrobatic tumbling is done on the floor of a big auditorium, guests are invited and encouraged to join in the dance. A tour of model traditional homesteads representing all Kenyan communities is also conducted by an experienced resident guide.

Stop 1

A 2 hour expedition of Nairobi National Museum and snake park will enable you to come into contact with Kenya’s rich ethnological, paleontology and archaeologist past. It is in this museum where thousands of pieces of historical evidence are preserved, the museum is full of history about the evolution of man,history of local cultures and customs,and information on colonial and political history of Kenya. There is also a section featuring animals and beautiful birds of Kenya as well as an art gallery. The snake park is attached to the museum and is located in a separate building. Enjoy a leisurely walk on the museum's well kept lush and lovely grounds.

The main attraction in this museum is a collection of remnants of the old Railway system popularly known as the "Lunatic Express" that was built by the Imperial British East Africa company in 1895. The remnants and artifacts are housed in an old railway building . There are old train models on display, photographs, tableware and oddities from the history of the railway, such as the engine seat that allowed visiting dignitaries like Theodore Roosevelt to take perfect riffle shots at unsuspecting wildlife from the front of the train. This is a tour that allows guests to travel back in time.

Stop 3

At the foot of the Ngong hills, now known as Karen is the home of Karen Blixen “Isaak Diensen” the famous author whose memoirs were immortalized in the popular film “Out of Africa”. It is now preserved as a museum where visitors can travel back in time and gain an insight into the life of this remarkable and courageous woman. Furniture, artifacts, and photographs from her days as a pioneer coffee farmer are on display. There is a guided tour around this original farm house. This excursion will take about 2 hours.

Stop 4

This is an afternoon excursion to kenya’s most vibrant cultural center. Bomas is situated in the Nairobi suburbs of langata. A Boma is a traditional homestead. They are set as a museum to represent Kenya ‘s 40 ethnic groups and to express their cultures and traditions. Programs based on traditional dances of the different tribes are presented with brilliant performances. The dancers finish with a lively display of acrobatics and tumbling. The shows begin at 14.30hrs and runs until 16:30 hrs.
