Above Vršič, in the ribs of the rocky Prisanko, a buckwheat girl is petrified, staring in amazement at the Trenta valley. When the sunny days of autumn dry the mountain grasses so that they harden and become straw, the mountain goats rush past them lower into the valley, to the shelter of the dark fir forests. In the mornings, the cold autumn winds lift the fog from the valley to start rolling over the rocky outcrops that seep into the sky.
That's when the buckwheat girl hides from prying eyes.
Few mountaineers know how it got lost between the rocks and the overhanging cliffs of the steep Prisanko and how it petrified in the rocky rib.

The verse of the Austrian poet Peter Rosegger remind us of the futility of war and everything connected with it:
“Or to the north, or to the south,
each road leads to a destination.
or in battle, or in peace,
it is God’s will to decide.
